Pictolo Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 July 2026

The short version

Pictolo has no accounts and no sign-up. Your puzzle progress is stored on your device, not on our servers. We use Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics to understand which puzzles work and to fix crashes, Google AdMob to show ads, and RevenueCat to handle purchases. We never sell your data.

1. Who we are

Pictolo is developed and published by Muntean Holding AS ("we", "our", "us"), a company registered in Norway, trading under the Illebra developer profile. This policy covers the Pictolo mobile app on iOS and Android. You can reach us any time via our contact page.

2. What stays on your device

Your solved puzzles, stars, coins, hints, hearts, streak, level and settings are saved locally on your device. We cannot see them, and they are not backed up to us. If you delete the app, that data is gone.

3. What we collect, and why

3.1 Analytics — Google Analytics for Firebase

We record in-app events such as starting and finishing a puzzle, which chapter it belonged to, how long it took, how many mistakes were made, hints used, and which screens were viewed. This is tied to a randomly-generated app instance identifier, not to your name or email. We use it to see which puzzles are too hard, too easy or broken.

3.2 Crash reporting — Firebase Crashlytics

When the app crashes we receive a crash report containing the error, a stack trace, your device model, operating system version, app version and a small amount of game context (your level, coin balance and number of solves) that helps us reproduce the problem.

3.3 Advertising — Google AdMob

Pictolo shows occasional full-screen ads and optional rewarded ads that grant you a heart. Google AdMob may use your device advertising identifier and approximate location to select and measure ads. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland we show a Google-certified consent form before any personalised ads are requested, and you can change your choice at any time via Settings → Ad privacy options in the app. On iOS we also ask for App Tracking Transparency permission; declining it does not limit the game in any way.

3.4 Purchases — RevenueCat and the app stores

Coin packs and the Remove Ads purchase are processed by Apple or Google. We never see or store your payment details. RevenueCat receives an anonymous user identifier and your purchase receipt so it can tell the app what you own and restore it on a new device.

4. What we never collect

We do not ask for or collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, precise GPS location, microphone or camera data. There is no login, no social feature and no user-generated content.

5. Children

Pictolo is suitable for all ages but is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Ad content is limited to the "General audiences" rating. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

6. Your rights

If you are in the EEA or UK, the GDPR gives you the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability. Our lawful bases are your consent (advertising and analytics where consent is required) and our legitimate interest in keeping the app working and free of crashes. If you are a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA gives you the right to know what we collect and to delete it; we do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us and we will respond within 30 days. You can also stop all further collection immediately by uninstalling the app, and reset your advertising identifier in your device settings.

7. Data retention and transfers

Analytics events are retained by Google for up to 14 months; crash reports for up to 90 days. Our processors — Google LLC and RevenueCat, Inc. — are based in the United States, and transfers rely on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

8. Third-party policies

9. Changes to this policy

If we change how Pictolo handles data we will update this page and the "last updated" date above. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
