Video Compressor Image Convert Terms of Service

End User Licence Agreement (EULA) · Last updated: 3 November 2026

The short version

Use the app as a tool, not as a backup. Keep your originals until you have checked the result. The app can fail, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable if a file is lost, damaged or cannot be read. The core app is free; paid extras are billed by the App Store or Google Play under section 5.

1. Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Muntean Holding AS ("we", "our", "us"), a company registered in Norway trading as Illebra. They cover your use of the Video Compressor Image Convert mobile app on iOS and Android, including its Share Extension and share target (the "app"), and they are also its End User Licence Agreement. By downloading, installing or using the app you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app. This agreement is between you and us only, not with Apple or Google. Please read section 8 (Use at your own risk; no guarantee against file loss) and section 12 (Disclaimer and liability) carefully. They explain the risk of file loss and the limits of our liability. When you first start the app, it asks you to accept these terms and records the version you accepted on your device. If we change these terms materially, the app may ask you to accept the updated version.

2. Your licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. The app is licensed, not sold. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, redistribute, rent, resell, sublicense or create derivative works from the app, except where that restriction is prohibited by law.

On Apple devices the licence is limited to Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Usage Rules. If you downloaded the app from Google Play, your use is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service.

3. Apple App Store terms

If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, these terms include the following, as required by Apple:

  • Acknowledgement. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app and its content.
  • Scope of licence. The licence is limited to Apple-branded devices that you own or control, except as permitted by the App Store Usage Rules.
  • Maintenance and support. We are solely responsible for providing maintenance and support. Apple has no obligation to provide any.
  • Warranty. We are solely responsible for product warranties, to the extent they are not effectively disclaimed. If the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any) for the app. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation.
  • Product claims. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the app or your possession and use of it, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, and consumer protection.
  • Intellectual property claims. We, not Apple, are responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of any third-party claim that the app infringes that party's intellectual property rights.
  • Legal compliance. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo or designated as a terrorist-supporting country, and that you are not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Third-party beneficiary. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
  • Export. You must comply with applicable export laws and regulations.

If you downloaded the app from Google Play, Google is not a party to these terms and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support.

4. What is free, and what needs a plan

The core job — compressing a photo or video for where it is going — is always free, with no size limit. You will never be asked to pay before you have seen a successful result from a feature that is free once.

Always free: compressing for a destination (including trim, send in parts, custom size, remove sound, remove location and sending several files at once), the Share Extension and share target, Recent, Video → audio (M4A and MP3), scanning in Free Up Space, and these image conversions: HEIC → JPG, PNG or WebP; PNG → WebP; JPG → WebP.

Free once each, then included in a plan: Free Up Space (the first finished run; scanning and the estimate are always free), Photos → PDF, Send as one .zip, Video → GIF, Photos for the Web (the first finished batch with its saved settings), MOV → MP4, and PNG ↔ JPG (PNG → JPG and JPG → PNG share one free use).

A use counts when a result finishes. Failed, cancelled or interrupted jobs do not use up the free one. The count is stored on your device, so reinstalling the app resets it.

5. Plans, billing and renewal

All three plans unlock every locked extra: Lifetime (a one-time purchase), Annual (a one-year subscription) and Monthly (a one-month subscription). Current US list prices on the date above are $17.99 for Lifetime, $5.99 per year for Annual and $3.99 per month for Monthly. The price shown in your App Store or Google Play account at checkout is the price that applies. Prices vary by country, may change, and are never charged by us directly.

Apple App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. A subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings after purchase.

Google Play. Payment is charged to your Google Play account at confirmation of purchase. A subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it before the renewal date in Google Play → Payments and subscriptions.

A Lifetime purchase is not a subscription and does not renew. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Purchases are tied to your store account, not to an app account (there are none), so you can use Restore Purchases on a new device. We will not revoke access you have paid for: a subscription lasts for the period you paid for, and a Lifetime purchase lasts as long as the app remains available. If we discontinue the app, we will give reasonable notice and, where required by law, a refund or replacement.

6. Refunds

Purchases are handled by Apple or Google, so refunds follow their policies and must be requested from them, not from us. If you are a consumer in the EEA or the UK you have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for digital content, which you may waive by starting to use the content immediately. If something has clearly gone wrong — a purchase that did not arrive, for instance — contact us and we will help.

7. Your files, and deleting originals

You keep all rights to your photos and videos. The app processes them on your device and we never receive them.

  • The app creates copies. Your originals are not changed unless you use Free Up Space and confirm deletion in the system's own prompt.
  • On iOS, deleted originals go to Recently Deleted; on Android, to Trash. The system may keep them there for a period. Empty those folders to get the space back immediately.
  • Deletion is permanent once the system removes the item. Back up anything you cannot replace before using Free Up Space. You are responsible for your files and for having backups.
  • Results kept in Recent are removed after 7 days. Results you save to Photos or share elsewhere are stored by you or by the app you sent them to.

Compression and conversion can change a file's size, format and quality. Check that a result is what you expect before deleting an original.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for data loss caused by a deletion you confirm, by the operating system, or by a device failure. Section 8 explains this in more detail. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.

8. Use at your own risk; no guarantee against file loss

You use the app at your own risk. The app is a tool for creating copies, not a backup or storage service.

Compressing, converting, trimming or deleting can fail, be interrupted, or produce a file that is incomplete, corrupted, unreadable or not what you expected. This can happen because of a bug, a crash, a problem with your device, operating system or storage, a power failure, an unsupported or already damaged file, or a file that changes while the app is working. We cannot guarantee that every file will be processed successfully, that a result will be usable, or that nothing will be lost.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss, corruption, deletion, damage or inability to access any photo, video, file or other data, or for any loss that results from your decision to delete an original. This applies whether the problem was caused by the app, your device, the operating system, or a third-party app or service. We do not offer a data-recovery service and cannot recover a lost file.

You are responsible for keeping backups of anything you cannot replace. Do not use the app as your only copy. Check every result before deleting the original. If you use Free Up Space, the app deletes only after you confirm the system's own prompt; that deletion is your decision. On iOS, deleted items go to Recently Deleted; on Android, to Trash; the system may remove them permanently after a period.

Nothing in this section limits any right you have under mandatory consumer law that cannot be waived.

9. Acceptable use

Please do not use the app to break the law, infringe anyone's rights, or process material you do not have the right to process. Do not tamper with the app's files, use modified clients, interfere with the app's purchase flow, or attempt to bypass the paywall. We may stop supporting installations that do so.

10. Intellectual property

The app, its name, its design, its code, its artwork and its copy are owned by Muntean Holding AS and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Your photos and videos remain yours. These terms do not give you any rights in our name, logo or content.

11. Availability and changes

We may update, change or discontinue the app or any feature. We do not warrant that the app will always be available, that every file or format will work, or that a result will be suitable for where you send it. Estimates shown before processing are estimates; the exact size is shown when the result is finished. We may change which features are free or included in a plan for future versions, but we will not take away access you have already paid for during the term of your plan.

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "last updated" date and, where required, notified in the app or in the store listing. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the app and cancel any subscription.

12. Disclaimer and liability

The app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we do not warrant that the app will be free of bugs, that any result will be error-free, or that any file will be preserved. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any warranty, right or remedy that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable consumer law, including your statutory rights as a consumer in Norway or the EU.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, files, profit, revenue or business opportunity, arising from your use of the app. This includes any loss, corruption, deletion, damage or inability to access any photo, video, file or other data, whether caused by a bug, a crash, an interrupted or failed compression or conversion, low storage, a device or operating-system problem, a power failure, a third-party app, or a deletion you confirm. Subject to that, our total liability for all claims relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim.

You agree that these exclusions and limits are a reasonable allocation of risk because the app is a tool that creates copies, you keep your originals, and you are responsible for backups. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or for any liability that cannot be excluded under Norwegian or EU consumer law.

13. Termination

This agreement lasts until you delete the app or we terminate it. You can end it at any time by deleting the app and cancelling any subscription. We may terminate it if you materially breach these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including your files, intellectual property, disclaimers, liability and governing law — continue to apply.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Norway, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence and may bring proceedings in your local courts. Before a formal dispute, please contact us so we can try to resolve it. Nothing prevents you from contacting your local consumer authority.
